Why not just use S3 signed URLs?
Signed URLs move bytes. They do not manage expiry policies, protect recipients, track delivery, or give your team a place to work. FileDrop is the layer on top.

Do you store my files?+
No. Your organization connects its own S3-compatible bucket. Uploads go browser to bucket and downloads go bucket to recipient — our servers never handle file bytes.
What happens when a share link expires?+
The token stops resolving immediately. There is no cached copy and no fallback — the recipient gets a clean not-found, and you can revoke a link before expiry too.
Can recipients preview before downloading?+
Yes. Images open in a lightbox, video and audio use built-in players, and PDFs render inline. Everything else downloads normally.
How are bucket credentials protected?+
They are encrypted at rest with AES-256-GCM using a key only we hold. We cannot read your access keys, and neither can anyone else.
What does the monthly email limit cover?+
Emails sent through FileDrop, including scheduled sends. Deleting a log from history never refunds quota — usage only resets when your billing period rolls over.
What happens if a payment fails?+
The organization is locked to read-only immediately, with no grace period. Files stay viewable, but uploads, shares, and emails pause until the subscription is renewed.
